My approach
I approach therapy from a strengths-based, person-centered focus. My practice offers a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to explore your strengths and the challenges you face. My approach is one that focuses on the present - your current thoughts, feelings, and experiences. We’ll focus on the future - your goals and dreams and how to achieve them. We’ll integrate the past as well - discovering insights together and incorporating them into improving your present experience. The goal is to unearth your most authentic self and and to create a life that is in alignment with and grounded in the most true version of you.
I consider myself to be an active therapist. I will point out what I notice, I will answer your questions, and I will be direct about ways our work together is progressing. I’ll challenge you to explore what we’re working on outside of session, and I will bring my full self to our therapeutic relationship.
While I cannot walk this path of healing for you, I will walk along side you. I will hold up a lantern (in the form of processing, insights, skills building, resource sharing, and an authentic and genuine relationship) to help guide you every step of the way.
Warmly, Christine
“Hope is not blind optimism. It’s not ignoring the enormity of the task ahead or the roadblocks that stand in our path. It’s not sitting on the sidelines or shirking from a fight. Hope is that thing inside us that insists, despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it, and to work for it, and to fight for it. Hope is the belief that destiny will not be written for us, but by us.”
— Barack Obama, Former United States President
